Reaching For The Sun
24"
square
This was my first attempt at applique over patchwork. I'm sorry
the picture is so poor. The background is made up of 1 inch
squares of various carefully chosen and arranged green print
fabrics, ranging from the yellow-green of the sunbeam to the
deep forest and teals used to suggest the shadows. The
sunbeam is quilted with gold metallic thread and gleams when
it catches the light. The daylily blossoms and thin bamboo-like
border is made from a beautiful golden/bittersweet material that
the Fabric Fairy dropped off from one of her trips.
